Submit comments TODAY on the proposed STAMP Monster Data Center. Reject one of the largest subsidy packages ever.

STAMP developer GCEDC is currently accepting written comments on requested $1.46 billion in taxpayer subsidies as well as the environmental application for Project Double Reed - the data center complex proposed by STREAM US Data Centers and Apollo Global Management at the STAMP mega industrial site in Alabama, NY.

This data center threatens the quality of life, well-being, and cost of living of local communities. It violates the sovereignty and way of life of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation. The proposed data center poses massive social and environmental risks for all of New York state and the Great Lakes Bioregion.

GCEDC needs hear from you by Wednesday, April 15 at midnight. Here's how to take action:

- Enter your name and zip code in the form to the right

- The form will automatically send an email to GCEDC. This form email reads as follows:

"To the Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC):

I submit these comments as part of the public hearing record pursuant to Article 18-A of the New York General Municipal Law as well as the SEQRA Environmental Review Process for BUFA Project Double Reed - the data center complex proposed by STREAM US Data Centers for the STAMP mega industrial site in Alabama, NY.

I oppose the financial incentives request submitted by STREAM US Data Centers; I demand that GCEDC follow all of NYS DEC’s recommendations; and I call on GCEDC to:

1) Reject the incentives application;

2) Conduct a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) focused on data centers at STAMP;

3) Conduct a Supplemental EIS for the entire STAMP site taking into account new laws and regulations as well as other changes, including changes in plans for the site since 2012;

4) Ensure that SEQR analysis incorporates review of cultural and environmental justice impacts on the Tonawanda Seneca Nation and includes input from the Nation, DEC and the State Historic Preservation Office on those impacts.

3) Conduct SEQR review that includes detailed impacts analysis for both the construction and operations phases of the project, keeping in mind that constructive is forecast to take at least five years;

 4) Require prior to completing SEQR review that independent studies on issues such as noise, air emissions, geotechnical analysis, traffic, and water impacts be completed and made available to the public;

5) Require prior to completing SEQR review that a public hearing is held AFTER all studies and application materials are finalized and made available to the public.

Project BUFA Double Reed threatens the quality of life, well-being, and cost of living of all residents of New York state, including and especially the residents of nearby communities in Genesee County and citizens of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation."

Context and additional information:

The Tonawanda Seneca Nation is fighting a massive 2.2 million square foot, 500 MW hyperscale data center to be used for AI right next to the Nation as a part of the Western New York Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP), a proposed mega-industrial site underwritten by NY state subsidies and facilitated by NY state permits and policy. A data center at STAMP directly threatens the Nation’s way of life, its continued existence on its homelands, and its treaty rights. The Nation is calling on all allies to take action in solidarity with their fight to STOP this STAMP Monster Data Center.

This fight is urgent and the stakes are high. This month, two major public comment periods are underway around the environmental review of the project and the financial incentive package for the developer. For all residents of NYS: the STAMP developer is accepting written comments on the proposed data center until midnight on March 31.

Communities across the county are taking action to stop harmful data center projects and protect their water, air, and quality of life. If we come together, we can fight the monster at STAMP, protect the Tonawanda Seneca Nation (as well all of us who live, breathe, drink water, & want a livable future in NYS), and WIN.
